Pinchas Gutter was born in Lodz, Poland, and was eight years old when World War II broke out. He was liberated from Theresienstadt by the Red Army in May 1945 and  emigrated to Canada in 1985 with his wife, Dorothy. Pinchas was the inaugural participant in USC Shoah Foundation’s “Dimensions in Testimony” project. His memoir, Memories by Focus, was published recently by the Azrieli Foundation. Pinchas is an active member of his community and serves as a cantor at the Kiever Shul in Toronto. He is a Holocaust educator and frequent guest lecturer for the Sarah and Chaim Neuberger Holocaust Centre, schools, universities, and the March of the Living and March of Remembrance and Hope programs.
