With the start of the 2023-2024 school year comes the implementation in Ontario classrooms of the Grade 6 curriculum changes discussed above. Among the resources CHES is developing to assist teachers in their classrooms is a webpage full of educational materials dedicated to Grade 6 learning, including teacher-recommended literature to help fellow educators grow their classroom toolboxes.
French resources are new to our website, beginning with a small selection of recommended books and links to virtual Holocaust museums that will grow in the weeks to come. We encourage French and English-speaking educators to reach out with suggestions of additional assets that could assist fellow teachers.
Because learning about the Holocaust must not end at Grade 6, CHES has added a new section to our Resources page. It now includes a collection of books written by Holocaust survivors or their families who have an Ottawa connection. Do take a look!
