Roberta Goldmaker was a senior financial advisor at a major financial institution for over 20 years, providing counselling, seminars, and a quarterly column for its newsletter. After retirement, she volunteered for several years with Dress for Success and created and presented seminars on financial planning for women entering the workplace. Since its inception, Roberta has volunteered with Israel Connect, providing online mentoring to students in Israel. She attended the six-week, online course with Yad Vashem. Being the grandchild of Holocaust survivors, she has spent time researching and writing about her family’s history in Hungary and the events leading up to their immigration to New York in the early- and mid-1940’s. This has made her sensitive to the events surrounding the Holocaust and the dangers of antisemitism. It is with this in mind that she became interested in joining CHES.
