Are you the child or grandchild of a Holocaust survivor? Would you be interested in developing an educational presentation that bridges generations? Are you interested in sharing your family’s survival experience to teach about the dangers of hate and prejudice?
As a result of rising antisemitism, we face a dramatic increase in requests for survivors’ visits to educational institutions. With the decline in the number of survivors who are able to do this, CHES is looking to train next generation participants who would like to tell their family survivor’s story in a new way: one that gives voice to the impact of the Holocaust across generations. The hatred and apathy that each survivor endured during the Holocaust has left an indelible legacy on the lives of the second generation and on their children. This legacy provides a valuable lesson for our world today.
To continue the survivors’ legacy into the future, CHES plan to undertake the Through Their Eyes project (Through Their Eyes with Sandy Lessig – YouTube) to teach, enable, and encourage the next generation to continue telling the survivor stories of their parents, grandparents, aunts, and uncles, including the historical background and their personal observations.
