Mina Cohn was born in Israel and has lived in Ottawa for 40 years. Both her parents were Holocaust survivors. An archaeologist by profession, she was a sessional professor at Carleton University and at St. Paul University. A member of the Ottawa Shoah Committee for 30 years and chair for seven years, Mina has a strong interest in and extensive experience with Holocaust remembrance and education. She was a member of the CHES founding committee, which was initially affiliated with the Max and Tessie Zelikovitz Centre at Carleton University, and was its director for five-and-a-half years. Mina is currently the chair of CHES. She is married and has three children and five grandchildren.
