“The Shoah has always had a major impact on my life,” writes Minda Chaikin, who grew up in Israel. In her capacity as an educator at Gray Academy of Jewish Education in Winnipeg, she attended a Facing History and Ourselves Summer Institute in Boston. For Minda, this was the beginning of her involvement in many Holocaust education programs at school and in other human rights events. She participated in Raoul Wallenberg Day every year as well as in an educational exchange program for three years with a First Nations high school in Winnipeg. Minda is excited to be part of CHES and looks forward to challenging and informative educational programming for this centre in Ottawa.
