The North American premiere of Liliana, a powerful documentary film about the life and legacy of Italian Senator-for-Life and Holocaust survivor, Liliana Segre by the Embassy of Italy.
The screening will be followed by film director, Ruggero Gabbai, who will share insights into the making of the film and the profound impact of Senator Segre's story.
Liliana Segre is one of the founders of the Shoah Memorial of Milan. She was deported to Auschwitz when she was thirteen years old. Liliana was liberated on May 1, 1945 from Malchow camp, a sub-camp of the Ravensbrück concentration camp. Of the 776 Italian children who were less than 14 years old when they were deported to Auschwitz,
Liliana is one of the twenty-five who survived.
