CHES invites you to hear Prof. Timothy Taylor as he discusses his journey of remembrance and commemoration. RSVP is required by November 12th, 2025. The location will be provided upon registration. This event is open only for descendants of Holocaust survivors.

Timothy Taylor will present The Hidden Holocaust Papers: How a Forgotten Archive Led to a Discovered Jewish Family History, which details his journey to uncover his German-Jewish family roots that resulted in his six-part podcast. He will share his family’s experiences of persecution, death, exile, and survival under the Nazis, giving voice to the silence and making sure his mother and grandparents are properly commemorated.

Timothy Taylor is a bestselling and award-winning author of works of fiction and nonfiction. He has published hundreds of feature articles over the past 20 years in such publications as The New York Times, The Walrus, Hakai, EnRoute, 18 Bridges, and The Report on Business Magazine. During his university years, he served as an officer in the Canadian Forces Naval Reserves and later worked in banking in Toronto. Taylor joined the University of British Columbia in 2013 where he teaches fiction and creative non-fiction at the UBC School of Creative Writing.
