CHES’ annual Teachers’ Workshop will be open to teachers in all Ottawa school boards and will be promoted throughout Ontario. The focus on modern antisemitism is clearly needed once again. The workshop will be facilitated by Avi Posen of Unpacked for Educators, who was well received by teachers and staff from the Ottawa-Carleton District School Board during our 2021 webinars, Unpacking Complexity in the Classroom.

This year’s workshop will examine the facts and language of antisemitism and will suggest ways for teachers to recognize discrimination. It will touch on how to diffuse situations of escalation and how to engage in these conversations. Creating safe spaces is our goal for all students with a focus on Jewish students as a priority.

Can this workshop be attended online via zoom. I am a retired teacher in Toronto and would be interested in attending.
